Letters to a Young Generation

“I urge young females across the nation to read this book, as it inspires you to go all out and grab the world by the lapels.”

Kanya King MBE, Founder of the MOBO Awards

Letters to a Young Generation were created to address the gap of there being a lack of books aimed at young black boys and girls from a black British perspective. In 2014 Amanda set up my own publishing company 9:10 Publishing so that she could publish the books herself, rather than waiting or relying on mainstream publishers. The books were featured on national television, radio and mainstream newspapers and have made a big impact on all those who have read them.

Letters to a Young Generation – Boys

Letters to a Young Generation is a collection of 13 letters from men who understand what it’s like to be a black male growing up in the United Kingdom. Inspiring, humorous and most importantly honest, the writers of these letters share their experiences and words of wisdom with the boys who will become tomorrow s generation of men. Contributors include: actor Hugh Quarshie, Commonwealth gold medallist Julian Golding, Olympic athlete Tony Jarrett, MP David Lammy and Gangsline founder Sheldon Thomas. They were all once boys and now as men, they’re paying it forward to the next generation.
